Molecule 03

Molecule 03 consists of Vetiveryl Acetate, pure and single.

Vetiveryl Acetate can be described as a hybrid molecule, half natural, half synthetic. It is a fraction of vetiver oil that is distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, which is then 'crossed' with acetic acid to remove the bitter and leathery aspects of the root.

The result is an elegant and refined molecule with the woody, slightly grassy character of vetiver, but much softer and smoother. "Acetylation also brings out the grapefruit note in vetiver," says Geza Schoen, "which gives a more pronounced bitter-fresh top note."

The Molecule 03 eau de toilette is minimalistic. It contains no fragrances except for the aroma molecule Vetiveryl Acetate. If you find the Molecule fragrances too subtle, you can try the Escentric fragrances, which always have a more powerful diffusion.
