Perfumer - Annick Ménardo

Annick Ménardo is a French master perfumer considered one of the most influential fragrance composers of her generation. After studying biochemistry and medicine, she decided to follow her passion for fragrance and trained at the prestigious ISIPCA. Her career began under the tutelage of master perfumer Michel Almairac at Créations Aromatiques. In 1991, she joined Firmenich, where she created dozens of iconic perfumes. She has been working at Symrise since 2018.

Ménardo is known for her emotional and contrasting style, in which light and dark, softness and intensity constantly meet. Her compositions are distinguished by the innovative use of smoky accents, anise, woody notes, and gourmand facets, which earned her the nickname “Anise Ménardo.” Among her most famous creations are Bvlgari Black, Dior Hypnotic Poison, Lolita Lempicka, Bois d’Argent for Dior, and Boss Bottled, all fragrances that have grown into modern classics.
