Perfumer - Bertrand Duchaufour

Bertrand Duchaufour is a French perfumer considered one of the most important pioneers in modern niche perfumery. He began his career in 1985 in Grasse at the Lautier Florasynth group and later refined his craftsmanship at Créations Aromatiques and Symrise. His first signed fragrance, Amber & Lavender for Jo Malone, marked the beginning of an impressive body of work spanning from luxury brands to artistic niche houses.

In 2008, Duchaufour chose an independent path and became the in-house perfumer for L’Artisan Parfumeur, where he developed iconic creations such as Timbuktu, Dzongkha, and Nuit de Tubéreuse. His style is characterized by complex, layered compositions in which ingredients such as incense, woods, and spices are processed in innovative ways. Bertrand Duchaufour is known for his ability to create fragrances that feel simultaneously mysterious, modern, and timeless.
